Solar power idled decreased to 1.65 TWh in northwestern China's Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region in the first half of this year, with curtailment rate down to 25.7% from 31.8% a year earlier, said Xinjiang Development and Reform Commission.
As of the end of June, the region's total installed capacity of photovoltaic (PV) power topped the country at 9.08 GW, making up 11.4% of the total power capacity in the region, the commission said.
The idled PV power of the region totaled 200 GWh in June, accounting for 15.3% of its total PV power generation, compared with 19.6% the year prior.
There are seven prefectures that reduced PV power curtailment rates below 15%, especially the capital city Urumchi, which was the lowest among all at 10.86%.
