Iron ore exports to China from Australia's Port Hedland decreased 1.50% from a year earlier to 33.50 million tonnes in February, according to the Pilbara Ports Authority.
It was 3.91% lower than the previous month. The shipments to China accounted for 86% of the port's total iron ore exports in the month.
Port Hedland is one of the world's largest iron ore export ports, used by three of the world's top four iron ore miners - BHP Group, Fortescue Metals Group and Roy Hill Holdings.
In February, Port Hedland's total iron ore exports reached 38.81 million tonnes, falling 8.30% on the month yet basically unchanged on the year, data showed.
Total exports dipped 6.53% year on year to 81.14 million tonnes over the first two months. Shipments to China declined 9.11% on the year to 68.37 million tonnes, taking up 84% of the total.
